# How do I stop my monthly contribution?

Life changes, and sometimes you need to pause or stop your monthly contributions. That's completely fine. You're in full control of your investments.

## Stopping your monthly contribution
You can easily stop your monthly contribution directly in the Curvo app:

1. **Open the Curvo app** and go to the "Invest" tab
2. **Tap "Edit"**
3. **Select "Stop"** to pause your automatic investments

That's it!

## When does the change take effect?
Your monthly contribution is debited on the first business day of the month. The debit is prepared a few days in advance, so if you want to ensure you skip next month's debit, stop your contribution at least a week before the end of the current month.

If you stop too late and the money has already been debited, you can always withdraw the amount through the app.

## What happens next?
* **Your existing investments stay put.** Stopping contributions doesn't affect the money you've already invested
* **Your portfolio keeps growing.** Your investments continue to work for you, even without new contributions
* **No fees for stopping.** There are no charges for pausing your monthly contributions
* **You can restart anytime.** When you're ready, simply set up a new monthly contribution in the same way

## Need a temporary break?
If you're just going through a tough month or two, consider [reducing your contribution amount](/en/article/how-do-i-change-my-monthly-contribution-1gluf6y/) instead of stopping completely. Even investing €50 per month keeps you in the habit and your money working for you.
